December 15, 2009Comparing Middlesex to Henry and June there was a lot to compare to. In both stories they are on the path to discovering their sexuality. Following the 1900’s writer, Anais Nin experiments through both women and men trying to find herself. Both stories are very risky with how much sex is talked about, and shown. In real life Anais is an erotica writer, where she is writing her feelings through her experiences at a time where sexuality is closed behind doors. Henry and June are both huge parts of Anais’s sexual discovery. As the movie progresses her sexuality increases as she explores through different things. In the end in both Middlesex and Henry and June, they both come to realize their sexuality and come to closure with themselves.
